New parts for Robbie

total-hip-replacementIn the morning, extremely early (Why do these things take place so early? It’s like an execution.) I will be having a total hip replacement.

I hope for 2 outcomes:

1. To be able to walk without pain.

2. To be more like Steve Earle. Think about it.

BTW: NO ONE CALLS ME ROBBIE EXCEPT FOR MY MOTHER AND MY AUNT BARBARA. PERIOD.

Oh, and because insurance is not transportable and I will be changing carriers in the middle of my treatment I will be forced to meet 2 deductibles.

Anyone who thinks healthcare is not controlled and rationed by little people behind desks who are not doctors or nurses has not had any dealings with the health prevention, sorry I mean health care industry.

  1. So is this now your new hip? I hope it does all it is supposed to do for you. Why did you not wait until you were through with onr insurance before you started the next?
It seems to me that the health care reformation problem would be relatively easy to fix. We must provide the consumer to buy across state lines and competition we automatically follow. That in and of itself would likelu clean up” letting gile clerks decide what is medically necessary for coverage. The first insurance company that offered transportability and coverage for existing conditions would have everyone joing up and then other companies would follow. If they didn’t then I am of the thingking they would eventually go out of business. One tiny little law like that could change so much, and as for those who can’t afford coverage, let the government provide it since they already do. Let the ones who fall through the cracks who make too much money for Medicaid, give them a different kind of allowance, make them pay a little more and make it available. He (Obama) wants to tax those who stay uninsured a pretty large amount when you consider that it will hit lower middleclass like me. Perhaps the tax should be what the premium would be if they got on the Medicaid by a sliding scale per income. Then they would say, well I might as well get the govt plan and therefore maybe that would work. Who knows what He will do since Medicaid and Medicare are the culprits which drain the treasury. I can see many things that drain the treasury and if all addded together it is likely that all our benefits could be paid by the govt if they could just learn how to budget the money. Personally, I don’t think this president cares about the budget. I dont think he loves this country the way most of us do. And that may have something to do with race. I could understand that as the reason he doesn’t see the American dream as we do even though he did not have ancestors that were slaves.
Sometimes I wonder if blacks, those who have slavery in their history ever think about where they might be had their ancestors not been brought to America. There is so much war and terror over there with tribe against tribe wiping out millions of people and living in poverty that the poor in this country have never seen. Now don’t get me wrong, I have never thought slavery was the way God wanted us to treat one another, but had their ancestors not been brought over, they may have suffered the way they suffer in Africa now. And another thing, I know of only a few very wealthy black people who go to Africa to offer econimcal assistance to their people, or offer getting involved in helping tribal fighting come to an end. They could even be helpful with legal assistance in allowing the tribal Africans who work the mines and the lush riches of Africas land to work toward better wages or percentages of ownership. Is this racist? I don’t think so bgut some might look at that way. To me it is about taking care of your own. They say they have a rich history but they are the only ones who are rich.

Just a few thoughts on the latest…..

    GET WELL SOON!

  2. Sounds like some rehab is in your future! god grant you patience and strength.
    Health care?
    Let’s get rid of fraud.
    Let’s cap malpractice awards.
Let’s be more sensible about emergency rooms, if it ain’t an emergency, get out!
As for Rob, why don’t you get it done in Canada? They have an opening, 3 years from now.
Laura, what has Obama done for his family in Africa?

  3. Rob-this is the reward for years of running to stay healthy. What’s wrong with this scenario?
Well, I sincerely hope you are well and feeling no pain. Love you, Bubba.

  4. Wow, you will be in my prayers.

  5. Wll- malpractice lawsuits and so-called frivolous lawsuits are boogeymen myths made up by the true culprits, the insurance racket cartels. An unholy allince between the extremey powerful insurance interests and the extremely ambitious government is truly to be feared.
I have never seen an issue that has exposed the shallow ugliness and outright lack of interest for the common man than this one.
Every proposal I have seen (granted most of them are ethereal at this point) once again screws the middle class.
The poor get taken care of, though I would not care to trade places with these pawns of the wealthy, and what’s a few thousand to those same wealthy including all the reps, senators, the president etc?
Thank you all for your prayers.
I am doing great and expect to hobble home Friday.

  6. Rob, you’re too young to be going through a Hip replacement!!!!!!!!!………..Hope and pray everything comes out right for you. Please keep us informed.
